The Legend of the Matriarch
n the cold, crystalline waters of Iceland, where ancient glaciers whispered secrets to the sea, a legendary soul was born. Katina, whose name would echo through the ages, emerged as a guardian of the deep—a matriarch whose wisdom and grace would touch the hearts of countless souls who beheld her majesty.
For 49 winters she swam between worlds, bridging the vast ocean and the realm of humankind. As the most successful mother in the chronicles of captive orcas, she brought forth seven calves into this world, including the legendary Kalina—the first orca ever to be born and thrive in the care of humans.

"In the depths where moonlight dances upon the eternal waves,
her spirit swims forever free—a guardian of the sacred bond
between the children of the land and the lords of the sea."
On December 21st, 2025, as the winter solstice painted the sky in hues of twilight, Katina was released from her earthly vessel. Though her body rests, her legacy endures—an eternal testament to the profound connection between humans and the magnificent creatures of the deep.
